  What means sintering?

[Sintering is a process](https://www.mowital.com/applications/high-performance-ceramics/#c2505 "During the sintering process, MOWITAL® combusts with virtually no residue.") for producing or modifying materials. In this process, fine-grained ceramic or metallic materials are heated - often under increased pressure - but the temperatures remain below the melting temperature of the main components so that the shape (form) of the workpiece is retained.
